Welcome to SoloFriendly.com, a blog for solo travelers! Or any travelers for that matter. We don’t discriminate. This blog is currently a work in progress, but eventually, it will hold travel tips and planning tools, links to articles of relevance to solo travelers, recommendations of solo-friendly travel destinations, and much, much more.
Some interesting statistics:
The U.S. Census Bureau reports that there are nearly 90 million single people in the U.S.
According to a 2007 report by the Travel Industry Association, 11% of all leisure travelers in the U.S. travel alone–that’s 34.8 million people.
The American Automobile Association breaks this figure down by demographic: 35% of all single travelers are aged 18-35; 27% are aged 35-49; 26% are 50-64 years old; and 12% are 65+.
My point being, more and more of us are traveling alone, so it can’t be all that bad, can it? If you’re not doing it, you should be!
