Welcome back! You seem to like this blog. Why not share your favorite articles with your friends on Facebook and/or give it a Stumble? Thanks!
I am back from my second solo trip to Disney World, and what a wonderful vacation it was! My last trip was so short, and I spent every minute of the day trying to cram in as much activity as possible, that I was more exhausted when I returned home than when I left. What this trip taught me was that there’s nothing quite like taking a full week for vacation. I had plenty of time for everything I wanted to do as well as lots of rest and relaxation.
Over the next few weeks, I will share with you my experiences from this solo trip to Disney World, along with some of the 1,000 photos I took (and am still processing).
My Jetblue flights went relatively well, except that–as I suspected–I had to run for my connecting flight at JFK on the trip down to Orlando. We were delayed for a little while by thunderstorms on the trip back, but we saw A-Rod at the Orlando airport while waiting, so I’m sure at least some of my fellow passengers were grateful for the photo opp. Disney’s Magical Express bus transportation to and from the airport turned out to be a real gem.
It was excessively hot in Orlando (in the 90s every day), but I made sure I took a break from the hot parks every afternoon for a swim, nap, or movie (the new Star Trek movie rocks!). I had some amazing meals while I was here, which I can’t wait to blog about. I will also review my resort (Coronado Springs), the Ridemax custom touring plan software I used (sort of), my meet at Jellyrolls with other members of the DIS boards, Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival, and more. My adventure in horseback riding at Disney World warrants its own blog post, and so it shall have it. Stay tuned.
Sadly, I was not able to go parasailing, but not because of my weight or the weather, but because the boat was being serviced that day. (Great timing, guys.) The folks at Sammy Duvall’s offered to rebook me later in the week, but of course, I was checking out the following day, so I couldn’t do that. It was very disappointing, since that was the one thing I was most looking forward to, but it was such a terrific vacation overall, that I got over it pretty quickly. There will be other opportunities for me to go parasailing.
To tide you over until I can start blogging about my trip, here are a few of my favorite photos taken at Coronado Springs Resort. Enjoy!
