Welcome back! You seem to like this blog. Why not share your favorite articles with your friends on Facebook and/or give it a Stumble? Thanks!
This has nothing to do with solo travel, unless you happen to be like me and enjoy going to Disney World solo. I’m leaving on my vacation to “The World” a week from today. Being the obsessed little researcher that I am, I have been reading Disney message boards daily and trying to gather as much current information about Disney World as possible before my trip so that I am as prepared as I can be. A new social media website on the block is making that a whole lot easier.
DisMarks bills itself as “a community highlighting the best of the Dis-o-sphere”. It resembles Digg, Stumble, and other similar social media sites, but is specifically for Disney-related articles and blog posts. This includes Disney World, Disneyland, the other Disney parks and cruises, etc. Thanks to this site, I learned about the new animatronic Remy (from Ratatouille) at Chefs de France (the only way I’d want to see a rat in the dining room!), read a review of the new Characters in Flight attraction at Downtown Disney, got very detailed instructions on how Disney’s Photopass works, and have seen photos and menus for Sanaa, the new restaurant at Animal Kingdom Lodge–which isn’t even open yet!
What’s really great about this site is that it introduces you to previously unknown Disney blogs and bloggers that you might enjoy, but didn’t know about, because it’s hard to find them when a search on Google for “Disney blogs” turns up over 6,000 hits! And you know these are good ones, because they’ve been submitted by users like you who liked what they saw and submitted them. It’s like having your own personal staff of Disney researchers. Articles are ranked by popularity based on how many members of DisMarks have rated them (or “marked” them) positively.
So if you’re Disney-obsessed, researching an upcoming trip, or just looking for Disney news quickly, make DisMarks your first stop. Then join in the fun with the rest of us by submitting and rating some articles yourself. You can get started by clicking the button below and “marking” this article.
