Mardi Gras Time!

What would New Orleans Month be without a little salute to that infamous institution called Mardi Gras?  I’ve not experienced Mardi Gras in New Orleans–or anywhere, for that matter.  I like the idea, but I don’t care for crowds.  However, during my recent solo travels to the Big Easy, I did want to learn as much as I could about its history and culture, and that included a trip to the Presbytere, to view its Mardi Gras Exhibit.  The Presbytere is part of the Louisiana State Museum. It is located conveniently off Jackson Square next to the St. Louis Cathedral.  Do check it out next time you’re in town.  Or, if you have more time than I did, take the free Algiers ferry from the foot of Canal Street over to Blaine Kern’s Mardi Gras World.
