Hot air ballooning in the Serengeti

You may recall that last fall I told you about luxury tour operator Abercrombie & Kent waiving their single supplement for their Highlights of Costa Rica tour. Well, they’ve recently been in touch with me to let me know about 30 more “Solo Savings” they are offering on a variety of tours this year. I know not everyone who reads this blog can afford their tours, and tours like this aren’t for everyone, but some of you might be interested or you might know someone who would be. And I’m always interested in sharing information with you when single supplements are waived or solo travelers catch a break in any way.

Among Abercrombie & Kent’s 30 Solo Savings for 2011 are tours where the single supplement has been slashed in price, and still others where it has been waived altogether, including:

The Snows of Kilimanjaro – The single supplement on this 11 day trek to ascend Africa’s highest mountain has been waived for their August 10 expedition only.

Tanzania Wildlife Discovery – This is a 10-day tour which includes hot air ballooning over the Serengeti and visiting a Maasai village, among other things. The single supplement has been waived for their October 13 tour.

Wings Over Kenya – No, this isn’t a new outlet of the chicken wing franchise, it’s an African tour, including a game drive and a visit to the Amboseli Elephant Research Center. The single supplement has been waived for their July 17, August 14, and September 18 tours.

Egypt Unveiled – Spend 11 days visiting the pyramids and temples of Egypt, with a stop in the ancient city of Luxor and a cruise down the Nile. Single supplement has been waived on select cabins on their July 14, August 11, September 23, and October 6 and 20 tours.

You can see all of their Solo Savings discounts and other travel specials at their website by clicking here.

Is riding on air balloon really safe? I always dreamed about riding on it because it looks so fun to do.
Well, that place looks safe for air balloon.

That picture would be a very nice place to stay with. I love to stay on a silent place. Its a Good idea to play for that air balloon.

That is a nice place to play with the air balloon because it is a silent place and have a big area and place.

@Will – I like the Tanzania Wildlife Discovery too. I just checked their website. The price is around $5,880. Sound like a lot of money but I think it’s worth it…

If I was also given a chance to travel or to have an adventure rush tour, I will also choose the same list that you have in this post. I love the hot air balloon even though it’s a little bit scary. Nice list though.

I don’t know their prices offhand, Will, but if you go to their website, I’m sure you’ll get all the information you need. They do have some great looking tours.

Wow! Awesome tourist spots to visit! I find Tanzania Wildlife Discovery tour interesting. Any idea how much will it cost? Any tips will be highly appreciated.

Those sound like really cool places to visit. One of my life goals is to visit Africa one day and it is good to know that we can get these types of discounts sometimes.

Me too, Alouise–on all counts.

Thanks for passing on this information. The tours are little over my budget (sadly because the tours looks amazing) but I’m glad that there is another company who is trying to help out solo travelers, rather than punish them. Hope more companies in the travel industry will follow Abercrombie & Kent’s lead.
