Hi, Beth - If it's your first trip to Las Vegas, I recommend staying on the Strip, since that's the prime tourist zone with many attractions you'll want to see. I can't think of any hotel along there that wouldn't be appropriate for a solo female traveler (except maybe Hooters). It all depends on your budget and other things you look for in a hotel (great pool area, fine dining, spa, gambilng, etc.). I'd aim for something between Encore on the North End and Mandalay Bay on the South End. There are lots of choices there.

Welcome to the site, lemonfresh! I'm sorry, I replied to your post three weeks ago, but my reply wasn't showing up and I realized I was having technical difficulties with the comment program.

The reason people think you're crazy is because they've never tried solo travel themselves! If they did, they'd want to do more of it. That is great story about the Excalibur. Those sorts of connections tend to happen more often when you travel alone. I love it, personally.

The reason people think you're crazy is because they've never tried solo travel themselves. They don't know how great it can be! Your story from the Excal is pretty funny (as long as it doesn't happen too much, right?). I love when things like that happen when I'm traveling. Sometimes you make really neat connections with people when you're traveling solo that you wouldn't if you were with others. Thanks for commenting! I love hearing from other solo travelers (especially those who love Vegas!). If you've been to other destinations solo, I'd love to hear about them.
