Word of the day: “Solocations”

I wanted to share this article from ShermansTravel.com for a couple of reasons.

1) I LOVE the word “solocations”. I plan to look for every opportunity to use it in daily conversation. (I’m easily amused.)
2) I am thrilled to see these kinds of discounted vacations for solos FINALLY becoming more abundant (abundant being ten, apparently), especially the ones being touted by the hotels/resorts themselves, rather than tour companies. Tour companies that specialize in single and solo travel have been around for awhile (thankfully), but it’s rare to see a hotel promote a package for solos that doesn’t include a singles supplement. Let’s hope it’s the beginning of a trend.
